Your support matters

In the past year, 121 new youth have become a part of the Inside Out Youth Services family. Annually we serve more than 600 LGBTQ+ and allied young people at our community center and through events like Queer Prom. But we know supporting youth people with programs and services is not enough—that’s why we trained nearly 800 adults to be allies for LGBTQ+ youth and trusted figures in their lives. None of this would be possible without the encouragement, love, and dedication of volunteers, donors, and advocates like you. We hope we can count on your continued support to help us reach our goal of $100,000!

Other ways to help

It is not enough for us to spread this message of inclusion. We need a chorus of parents, youth serving professionals, schools, churches, hospitals, and mental health facilities delivering this message with us – we need allies.

Frequently Asked Questions

A gift in any amount is meaningful, but a recurring donation allows you to give more while giving less. We know that your financial situation might be tight or uncertain and a larger gift might not be possible. For example, instead of making a $300 gift today, please consider donating $30/month, about $1/day, which ensures that one youth can access a full year of the programming and support they need to thrive. It’s easier to budget for a monthly subscription and it becomes an even greater gift over time. Subscription giving makes you a super ally, knowing we can count on you to stand up for youth all year long!

Not at all! When our live streamed virtual event is complete, you can watch the recording by returning to this page. We will also simulcast the event on Facebook Live and our YouTube channel, where the recording will remain accessible. The Ally Up event page will accept donations now through October 31, so the chance to give is not limited to the event itself.

You bet! We understand that an online gift isn’t for everyone, whether you have concerns about security, wish to pay with a paper check or cash, or for any other reason. You are always welcome to call us before, during, or after the event and provide your information to a staff member over the phone: 719-328-1056. You can mail a check made out to Inside Out Youth Services anytime and put “Ally Up 2020” on the memo line: Inside Out Youth Services, 223 N. Wahsatch Ave., Suite 101, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. You may also drop off your donation anytime between noon and 7 p.m. on October 8, 2020.

Your 100% tax deductible gift goes directly to support our mission of advocacy for and alongside LGBTQ+ youth of the Pikes Peak region. Some examples include our evidence-based programs designed to build resilience, helping youth learn about healthy relationships and substance cessation and refusal skills, leadership training, academic tutoring and adult mentorship, clinical mental health care, support groups for transgender youth and the parents who love them, community education and outreach, bus passes for work and school, COVID-19 direct aid, and weekly community meals.

Absolutely. Although our center is temporarily closed due to COVID-19, we have many anticipated volunteer needs. Please contact volunteer coordinator Tracey Porter at [email protected] for more information. We are also always in need of warm socks for youth experiencing homelessness, and with winter on its way, there are many other seasonal needs to help keep young people safe. Please visit our website for a current list of our most pressing needs. Finally, one of the best things you can do for LGBTQ+ youth is to share information about Ally Up, our programs and services, and opportunities to participate with your circle of family and friends. Re-sharing social media posts and letting folx know about Inside Out makes you a champion for LGBTQ+ youth, helping us fulfill our mission by expanding awareness and inviting new allies to join us in our work.

If you are able, $1,000 or more a year (about $90/month or $3/day) adds your name to the Giving Rainbow, a new donor circle of super supporters! Take pride in knowing that your donations support LGBTQ+ young people of the Pikes Peak region as they learn and grow together in community. Donors at this level receive special recognition on our website and in the community center, as well as behind the scenes glimpses, invitations to gather for learning and celebration, and the knowledge that you are changing the world for the better.
